i got professional portraits taken of my cat
she is available for hire, will work for cheez-its
I got professional portraits taken of my cat, Tofu, this month. That’s basically the whole newsletter.
I booked this appointment back in November 2021, and it also had to be rescheduled due to some unforeseen circumstances, so I have been waiting on the edge of my god damn seat for this moment.
Tofu is my precious baby and now she is also a gorgeous model so best of both worlds.
The photographer and master artist behind these stunning portraits that belong in every museum around the world (definitely not biased) is Bảo Ngô. She started doing pet photography in quarantine with her own pets, and, as you can imagine, people really responded.
Literally the moment I first saw her work I reached out to her to book the shoot – there was no thinking, only DMing.
Tofu and I went on quite the journey from upper Manhattan where we live to Bảo’s studio in Brooklyn, and she was not particularly thrilled to be on the Subway again, but she’s now been to 3/5 boroughs which she will brag about I’m sure.
I am obviously planning to get these photos (and the rest not included) framed and cover all of my walls in them.
I’ve had the final photos back for less than a week, and they have already brought so much happiness this was the best investment I could’ve made. I’ll be throwing out my Lexapro bottle this evening.
Thank you, Bảo! And thank you, Tofu, for studying your angles.
(The following is an automated bit by Substack, but the app is genuinely very handy and it makes reading my favs much easier so I would indeed recommend.)
I have exciting news to share: You can now read Yeehawt in the new Substack app for iPhone.
With the app, you’ll have a dedicated Inbox for my Substack and any others you subscribe to. New posts will never get lost in your email filters, or stuck in spam. Longer posts will never cut-off by your email app. Comments and rich media will all work seamlessly. Overall, it’s a big upgrade to the reading experience.

These are stunning. I showed the pics to Gillian and now she wants to arrange at photoshoot for her cat.
